INTRO
My dear Amiga community, after making all kind of processor I couldn't stop
myself from making a full grown Motorola 68060 clocked at 50MHz. The King of
Kings, the processor that made all of dream about a powerfull yet friendly
Amiga with top class performances able to compete with the "evil" Wintel
Corporation. But anyway we all know the story so let's celebrate with this
brand new object. It is based on the 68040's design but everything has been
remodeled and the pins are totally realistic as they are supposed to be.
Golden core, serial numbers and, this time, complete with the almighty
socket! Can you ask for more? Hell yeah! And that's the answer: everything
has been modeled and rendered on an original C=Commodore Amiga 1200/030. No
virtual Amigas or surrogates has been used in the making of that processor.
THE PACKAGE
The package contains:
- MC68060.iob The processor object for Imagine
- MC68060SKT.iob The socket object for Imagine
- 68060iob.readme It's what you're reading now
- MC68060_01.jpg Image of the 68060 you just downloaded
- MC68060_02.jpg same as above
- MC68060_03.jpg same as above
- MC68060_04.jpg same as above but it shows the pins
- MC68060_05.jpg Image of the socket
- MC68060_06.jpg same as above but it shows the pins
- MC68060_07.jpg Image of the 68060 socketed
- MC68060_08.jpg same as above
REQUIREMENTS
Ok before you start reading that you must consider that the 68060 got
something like 206 pins and absolutely every pin in that object is where it
is supposed to be. Now, be sure to have at least 20Megs of fast RAM if you
wanna render the processor alone and if you will render the pins, take in
consideration to have a VERY FAST processor and coprocessor. My 68030 and
68882 at 50MHz struggled for more than 7 hours to render picture #4. If you
want to render both processor and socket be sure to have 32Megs of fast RAM
in your system because I almost drained all my Amiga's memory for rendering
picture #7 and #8.
INSTALLATION
No textures or brushes has been used so you just need to put the object in
your favourite directory and load it in Imagine starting the fun.
COPYRIGHT
You're free to use the object for all the images you want.
The only thing I ask is to not upload the archive or any part of the files
contained in the archive, on other repositories.
I want to be sure that this object will be kept ONLY on Aminet because, for
me, it's THE ONLY Amiga's repository and main resource.
Feel free to contact me anytime.
Have a good one, and happy renderings.
